After a frustrating Saturday morning session which included two lost beauties and a quick ducking, the Sunday session produced the goods..........three targeted trout, three hook ups and three to the bank! All between 12 and 18 inches.
I fished the pools alongside and just upstream of the small metal gate. The Sunday was more overcast than Saturday, but with the same wind. There were more feeding trout showing than the previous morning......and no other anglers....Saturday afternoon looked like it was shaping up for a queue system to fish the pools!!!!
However, the Saturday stampede had no adverse effects on the resident trout. These selective and wary brownies I find most susceptible to small HE nymphs fished with slight animation. The largest put up a great fight with two reel screaming runs before a gentle beaching...quick photo and straight back.
