Waited until the 16th so that all you folk who have to go to work had the maximum space on the river on opening Sunday - do hope it was a good day - there didn't seem to be many parking spaces free.
This is my second season. I became a professional "whitebait" hunter during 2008/9, seemingly incapable of hooking into anything longer than 4" (except for 5 grayling on the Kings beat) despite hours and hours of effort. My performance was so poor I didn't dare send in a catch return - too humiliating!
You can imagine my delight therefore when I caught and released a super brownie of 14" about 100yds upstream of Musgrave Church today on a grey shrimp. Oh! doesn't it make you feel good !!!
