Better than last year

Contributed by Andy Hartley (29.05.2007)

Took only one fish all day last Friday but it was a biggie - a 2lb 6oz grayling at the exact same place I had the two pounder about a month ago. I've had a few decent brownies in May. Paul Procter netted one for me and measured it and weighed at 1lb 4oz and 15.5 inches long. I had one a bit bigger than that the week before - both between new bridge and the waterfall.

This year's fishing is already miles better than last.

Also met Steve Howarth last week and thanked him for his brilliant blogging.

I'm off to France on Thursday for five weeks so see you when I get back.
