Final fish of the season
Contributed by Callum Highet (30.09.09)
After finishing university at about lunch time, I thought I would try and end the season, for the second time, with a few fish.

As I was walking up from Musgrave Bridge I met John on the same bank and we talked for short while. I then proceeded upstream to where there are some big boulders in the middle of the river. Casting upstream with a tungsten brown bio nymph I thought I felt a pull on the first cast. So, I cast again and was pleased to feel a solid pull with a lively brownie on the end. I released the fish and carried on.

A few casts later I felt a very solid pull which I hoped was not the bottom. I cast again and I was rewarded with a tremendous fight from the brownie pictured. I don't know the weight but I would guess at about 1.5lb. All in all a fantastic way to end the brownie season and I await next year’s brownie magic.
All the best and tight lines.
