One night in June

One night in June I managed to get an evening session in. As you know the river was always in flood or dropping after one and that was when I got my chance.
The water was still quite high, beer coloured and cold, as I noticed when I waded into a deep pool and my voice went a bit strange.
I fished upstream of Beckfoot and caught a nice brownie of about 10" on a f-fly in a fast run, then moved upstream and caught another three all on a f-fly (2 small ones and one about 12").
I have noticed plenty of fish about the 10-12" mark this year, which can only mean the future of the Upper Eden looks very good indeed.
