Early
days

The Thursday promised to be a good day and I travelled up to the
Eden for my first visit of the season. Little was moving around
Musgrave bridge so I tackled up with a search rig (small tungsten
bead GRHE and a tiny spider ). All quiet for the first hour, then
a small sporadic hatch of olives occurred around 1.30. By this time
I was upstream of the bridge past the beck that flows in after the
church. A few small rises were seen and stealth, luck and patience
equated to a lovely 17" brownie on the snipe and purple. This
was followed ten minutes later with a 14", again on the S+P.
The hatch petered out and all was quiet as I moved upstream to the
stretch before the Belah. Amongst the opposite willows I caught
another to 12" and missed a couple more. A very pleasant day
with true spring in the air.
