Eden
& Belah
Contributed by Mike Roden (16.06.2005)
Introduced a good friend of mine to our streches of river. The
water was up a little and a nice "tea" colour, the weather
was warm but rainy and a horrible downstream wind for most of the
time. Some hatches of olive uprights mixed with the odd yellow may
and mayfly.
The fishing was it's usual standard although none of the "bigger"
fish were fooled by our tactics. The most notable fish was a very
nice grayling of about 1/2lb on the Belah. It was the first time
I had really fished this river and it certainly won't be the last,
also had a look upstream to the "fly only" water which
looks a very promising dry fly stretch.
My friend was suitably impressed and repaid my hospitality by outfishing
me but as he is a England Rivers International I'm not too worried!!
