Walked thr river over two days, various locations. Took a rod with
a dry fly on but never moved a fish! Quite a few fish were seen (again
big) but none were observed to be feeding. Met two viiting anglers
on joint water but they had had no success either. On all occasions
there was a hatch of large dark olives around 10am, but I saw no fish
rising. The weather was warm again (but a frost at night) and very
bright. One observation of note was the amount of butterflies on the
wing in mid-March, mainly Tortoiseshell and Speckled Wood. |
